Archery Team

Head Coach: Dalton Arundel
Quarterback: Gareth Stringbreaker

Site opens at 6:00 pm Thursday (full schedule at bottom).

Descriptions of shoots:

War Point Shoots:
There are three War Point scenarios that make up the archery War Point; The Champions team shoot and two Populace shoots. Each scenario will be scored individually. To win the War Point a side must win two of the three War Point scenarios.

Champions Shoot:
The Principality Champion will be Captain of the Prince and Princess' team. The Iron Arrow will be Captain of the Tanist and Tanista's team. It is the responsibility of each Captain to recruit ten archers (including themselves) to shoot for their team. The competition is a single elimination. In each round one archer from each team will step to the line. At the end of the round the winning archer returns to the end of their team line, the losing archer is eliminated. In the event of a tie they both go to the end of their respective lines. Once the teams' shooting order has been chosen it cannot be changed. The shoot will be a 30 second timed round at a target placed at 30 yards. The team that eliminates all members of the opposing side will win the War Point.

Populace War Point Scenarios:
For the Populace Shoots any person on the property above the age of five can participate. Archers must declare which side they are shooting for before they begin. Loaner equipment will be available. Both scenarios are cumulative point format.

Advancing Soldier:
Each archer shall shoot six (6) arrows, un-timed, at man sized soldier targets at 20, 30 and 40 yards. The archer has the choice as to which target(s) they choose to shoot. Children will shoot the same targets at 10, 15, and 20 yards.
Each arrow hitting the 20 yard target in the scoring area (10 yards for children) will be worth 1 point.
Each arrow hitting the 30 yard target in the scoring area (15 yards for children) will be worth 2 points.
Each arrow hitting the 30 yard target in the scoring area (20 yards for children) will be worth 3 points.
At the close of the shoot the side will the highest total points will win the War Point.

Clout Shoot:
Each archer shall shoot six (6) arrows, un-timed, at a walled circle at approx 90 yards. Children will shoot the same target at a distance of approx 60 yards Each arrow landing inside the circle will be worth 1 point. Arrows striking the front wall are worth 0 point. At the close of the shoot the side with the highest total points will win the War Point

Other planned Archery Activities:
Instruction will be available for anyone wishing to learn how to shoot.
Instruction will not be available during the time the War Point Scenarios are being run.
Loaner gear is available for instruction and for use by the populace to shoot the war points. It is not available for royal rounds or tournaments other than the War Points.

Royal Rounds for both children and adults.

Night Shoot: "The Tracer Fire Shoot"
Friday after dark.
Archers will shoot glowing arrows into a glowing clout target. Glow sticks will be supplied at a cost of $1.00 for three. No loaner equipment available for this shoot. This shoot is just for fun.

Iron Man Tournament:
The Iron man shoot consists of 5 consecutive one minute timed rounds at the clout target. The archer who scores the most points in the five rounds is the winner. Due to the nature of this scenario it is suggested that each participant have at least 1 dozen arrows.

Castle Shoot:
Archers will be shooting at advancing soldier targets from the top of the castle. Each archer will shoot one round of six arrows, un-timed. This is a prize tournament.

Archery Water Duels:
Join us on the archery line for Water Duels! Two archers square off to see who is the fastest and most accurate. Two participants will shoot at water jugs hung from rope and pulleys in a timed end. The idea is to hit your own jug as often as you can, and drain it first. If your opponents jug touches ground first your opponent is eliminated. You do NOT want to hit your opponents jug, just your own.
